The Davisson Brothers Get “Mountain High” In Towering New Single

Produced by Brent Cobb and David “Ferg” Ferguson, Track Marks First Taste of New Chapter for the Indie Heavyweights

Nashville, Tenn. (October 24, 2022) – For genre-blurring West Virginia group THE DAVISSON BROTHERS BAND, the best way to get down has always been to climb “MOUNTAIN HIGH” – and with their brand new single, the independent Americana roots rockers do just that.

Released last Friday (10/21) and marking the first taste of a bold new chapter, the track was co-written by brothers Chris and Donnie Davisson with Tyler Reeve and Wyatt Durette, featuring a sound that both shakes the rafters and echoes through time.

Pairing rough-hewn sonic grit with an authentic stomp-and-clap rhythm, plus smoky, high-altitude harmonies and the band’s fiercely self-reliant spirit, the towering track is a tribute to a proud and unique way of life – one The Davisson Brothers know by heart.

“Mountain High, it’s who we are, and what we do,” said lead singer Donnie Davisson.  His brother, guitarist Chris Davisson added, “we knew this song was special the day we wrote it.  Mountain Life gets in your blood.  We carry it with pride.”

Co-Producer Brent Cobb noted, “The Davisson’s are some of the truest friends I’ve made in the business.  ‘Mountain High’ takes me right to the mountains of West Virginia were they come from.  Which was the intention me and Mr Ferg had from the start.  It ain’t that hard capturing something that genuine.  Was an honor working with everyone all around.”

Co-Producer Dave “Ferg” Ferguson exclaimed…  “‘Mountain High’ is the perfect song for these guys! Makes you wanna stand up and yell!  West Virginia should be proud of these guys…they’re mighty proud of West Virginia! I’m mighty proud to have been involved.  The dudes are a pure pleasure to work with…and God Bless Brent Cobb!”

An early taste of what’s next for the long-hailed family band, “Mountain High” represents a major milestone for The Davisson Brothers, and a step into new territory. Produced by roots royalty Brent Cobb and David “Ferg” Ferguson, the track was recorded at Nashville’s famous Cowboy Arms Hotel And Recording Spa.

In the meantime, the band continues doing what they do best, as they criss-cross the nation and play by their own rules. Last Friday, they had a single release party in their hometown of Morgantown, West Virginia. The band recently headlined a raucous show at Nashville’s 3rd & Lindsey for the 2022 AmericanaFest, and also appeared at the beloved Del Fest bluegrass festival in Maryland – helping showcase their genre-blurring, true-original appeal.

Likewise, they will keep the hammer down on tour, maintaining a near-constant schedule of shows. They’ll return to their native West Virginia and also perform in Ohio before Christmas, with much more to come.

ABOUT THE DAVISSON BROTHERS

The Davisson Brothers are a genre-blurring mountain roots rock band formed in Clarksburg, West Virginia, by Chris and Donnie Davisson. Along with nephew Gerrod Bee and life-long family friend Aaron Regester, the band has created a uniquely authentic Appalachian country sound, which has helped them grow into one of the most successful independent acts in the world. Since their founding in 2006, the band has recorded three albums, been celebrated as a Highway Find on Sirius XM, charted on country radio with “Foot Stompin’” and scored a hit song in Australia with “Po’ Boyz,” while also earning a dedicated following in the Jam Band/Bluegrass scene and standing shoulder to shoulder with mainstream country stars at festivals like CMC Rocks (Australia) and the Carolina Country Fest. The new single “Mountain High” was produced by Brent Cobb and David “Ferg” Ferguson, and marks the first taste of a brand new chapter full of gritty, rough-hewn sonic toughness.
